Updating your Recovery Email Address

Last modified 4/25/2024

Your recovery email email address is a non-ISU email account, such as a Yahoo or Gmail account, that IT Staff can use to help assist you in the event your ISU email account is experiencing problems.

To add or update your recovery email address, do the following:

  1. Navigate to your Account Management Portal at Account.IllinoisState.edu.
  2. Enter your ULID and password and click Log In.
  3. Click Change Recovery Email Address underneath Recovery Email Address.
  4. Enter your new email address in the Recovery Email Address and Confirm Recovery Email Address text boxes.
  5. Click Change Recovery Email Address.
  6. You will receive a notification that a confirmation link has been sent to the recovery email address you just entered. You will want to navigate to your recovery email account using the same device and browser.
    1. Note: It may take up to several minutes for the confirmation link message to appear in your recovery email account.
  7. Locate the confirmation email, which will be sent from ISU Account Management. You may need to check Spam/Junk folders if it does not appear in your inbox. Open the email to see your verification code (Figure 1):
