Inbox Access in Canvas

The Canvas inbox functions like a normal Outlook or Gmail inbox but focused for Canvas only information. Using the inbox, instructors can email students directly. Students can filter this inbox by course as well as the usual options like sent or unread.
Opening the Inbox
On the left-hand side in the global navigation panel, click on the Inbox button or the email icon.
Using the Toolbar
The toolbar in the Canvas inbox provides a lot of functionality.
- Filter your inbox by course.
- Filter your inbox by type.
- Compose a new message.
- Search for a user.
Once you have selected a conversation, you can use the other options in the toolbar to:
- Reply to a conversation
- Reply-all to a conversation
- Archive a conversation
- Delete a conversation
- Forward, mark a conversation as read or unread, and star conversations
