Unable to Access Microsoft Teams for Classes from within Canvas using Safari
The Illinois State University Technology Support Center is aware of an issue where Mac OS users running some versions of Safari are unable to access their Microsoft Teams for Classes material from the Microsoft Teams classes link in the Canvas Course navigation menu.
Issue:
Users click the Microsoft Teams classes link in the Canvas Course navigation for their course and are presented with the option to Sign In. On clicking Sign In, the user will briefly see a pane open up with the message “loading”; this pane disappears after a few moments and nothing else happens. The user is not directed to the Microsoft Team for their course.
Workaround:
Until this issue has been resolved by the vendor, it is recommended that impacted users employ a different browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox) when there is a need to access the Microsoft Team for their course from within the Canvas course.
Another workaround would be to open Microsoft Teams web or desktop app directly and access the Team for the course.
