Illinois State University has a variety of resources available to assist students who need to apply for and manage financial aid.
Whether you are a new or existing student at Illinois State University, you should visit the Financial Aid office website to obtain information on the types of financial aid available to students, including loans, grants, and scholarships. This website also includes links that will assist you in finding and applying for financial aid.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Illinois State University students applying for financial aid must complete the U.S. Department of Education Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. This form can be found on the Department of Education's website
Accept, Decline, or Reduce Financial Aid Awards
You will use the Student Center to accept or decline those awards. You can also reduce the amount of specific awards if desired.
Report Other Financial Aid
If you receive financial aid from any organization outside of Illinois State University, you are required by federal law to report that aid. You can report other financial aid you've received through the Student Center.
Your Financial Aid Counselor
For questions on financial aid, please contact your financial aid counselor. You can find out who your financial aid counselor is by logging in to the Student Service Center. Your financial aid counselor can assist you in applying for financial aid, accepting awards, declining awards, reducing awards, and reporting other financial aid awards.
