Understanding the Safety & Policy Tab in My.IllinoisState

Who Has Access?

Current Illinois State University students, faculty, staff, and annuitants have access to the Safety and Policy tab in My.IllinoisState 

How to Navigate the Safety & Policy Tab 

Click the Safety & Policy tab on the top right corner of the My.IllinoisState.edu web page to navigate to the Safety and Policy page, then scroll through the Safety and Policy page to find information in each of the following categories: 

  • Campus Safety: Features links to University resources such as the campus police, crime/incident reporting tools, reports regarding security on campus, and emergency alerting at Illinois State. 
  • Student Polices: Features links to student-specific polices such as drug/alcohol policies on campus, the Student Code of Conduct, the Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution policies, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). Only current University students will see this tab. 
  • Employee Policies: Features links to employee-specific resources such as the University Ethics Office, the Office of Equal Opportunity & Access, the General Counsel, Identity Standards, employee drug and alcohol policies, Records Management, Risk Management, FERPA, discrimination and sexual harassment/assault reporting tools, and the University Policy & Procedures website. Only current University employees will see this tab. 
  • Shared GovernanceFeatures links to websites for associations and groups responsible for providing guidance and leadership to employees of the University. These groups include: 
    • Academic Senate?is an advisory board to the President of Illinois State University and is responsible for providing guidance on educational policy at the University. 
    • Civil Service Council: ?was established in the spring of 1959 under the presidency of Bob Bone for the purpose of providing non-academic staff a voice on campus. 
  • Affinity Groups: Features links to various affinity groups on campus. 
  • Health & Wellness: Features links to University Health and Wellness resources such as Health Promotion & Wellness, Fitness Center, and the Faculty/Staff Care Team.  
  • GivingAllows quick access to those Faculty and Staff who want to support the University financially.
