Eduroam at Illinois State University

Eduroam is a global Wi-Fi service that enables a fast and secure wireless internet connection to visiting university researchers, students, staff, and faculty anywhere an Eduroam connection is available. Over 600 institutions around the world use Eduroam, and those users can access any institution’s Eduroam connection so long as they have a valid and active school profile. Who Can Access Eduroam at Illinois State University?
Anyone that has an active ISU ULID account can access the Eduroam connection on campus and use the connection interchangeably with “ISUNET”.
Those who are visiting from an institution that also uses Eduroam will be able to connect to ISU’s Eduroam network immediately. Students, staff, and faculty visiting the university will simply need to use their account information given to them from their institution to log in.
What Types of Devices Can Access Eduroam?
Smart phones, tablets, and laptops are able to connect to Eduroam. Simply access your network list from your device and input your credentials.
Should I Use Eduroam or ISUNET?
Functionally, there is no difference between Eduroam and ISUNET. Eduroam is recommended for those who frequently visit other Universities. You can access it the same way as you would ISUNET by going into http://wifisetup.ilstu.edu

The Technology Support Center recommends that ISU users connect to ISUNET when on campus for a more consistent IT support experience.
How Do I Connect to Eduroam?
For those with an active ISU ULID account wanting to connect to Eduroam, perform the following:
- Access the wireless network list on your device and select? Eduroam.
- Enter your full ISU email address in the Username field and your ISU ULID account password in the?Password?field.
- Select ?Connect?to connect to “Eduroam”.

Android users may need to select?Use System Certificates?in the dropdown under “Certificate” and type wireless.ilstu.edu to enable the?Connect?button.
What to do if You get the “Can’t Connect” Error
If you are presented with a “Can’t Connect” error when attempting to connect to Eduroam’s Network, you will want to “Forget the Network.”

- Enter the “Full Email Address” for your institution in the?Username?field, and your password in the?Password?field.
- Select?Connect?to connect to “Eduroam”.
